Three infiltrators were among eight militants killed in the Kashmir valley, where four security personnel also laid down their lives while a youth leader of BJP was murdered in the first week of November. Militants also carried out attacks on security forces in which several Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police personnel were injured while security forces had to burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse stone pelting demonstrators in the valley during the period. According to official records available here on November 2, two Army personnel were martyred while a militant was killed in an encounter at Samboora in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. Security forces had to burst teargas shells to disperse the stone pelting mob during the search operation and it is reported that two militants managed to escape from the cordoned off area. A youth leader Gowhar Ahmad was also killed by slitting his throat while six security personnel were injured in two different militant attacks in the south Kashmir same day.
